Rick's Place Trained Volunteers
Rick’s Place is deeply grateful for the incredible work of our volunteers. They are college interns and community members who serve as our group facilitators. Volunteers commit their time and energy to make a lasting difference in the lives of grieving children, teens and adults. Our volunteer facilitators give of themselves as they demonstrate presence and kindness in their support of children and their families learning to live with loss.

With the guidance and supervision of our professional staff, trained volunteer facilitators are essential members of our Rick’s Place community. They are screened, trained and supervised to provide support, education, and facilitation to small groups of grieving youth. We offer one training yearly for those interested in working with children and families as a group facilitator.
Volunteer facilitators lead discussions, play games, read stories and create arts and crafts with all the grieving young people in our program. With the help of our caring adult facilitators, participants make new friends and share about their experience of loss.

Required Training Program
Our 17-hour volunteer training program is required of everyone who is considering becoming a volunteer facilitator. NOTE: Completion of training is not a guarantee that you will be accepted as a facilitator.  Additional volunteers are needed to help with event planning and office support for the program. Call us today to see how you can get involved!

Volunteers are A-B-S-O-L-U-T-E-L-Y essential to the work we do at Rick’s Place.
